India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has given the fans a glimpse of how India’s new kit for the upcoming final match of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship 2021 will look like.
Jadeja took to his social media accounts to post his picture with the new sweater. As far as India’s official jersey for this historic match is concerned, the same is yet to be revealed by any player.
As is the case in world events, players’ jerseys and sweaters don’t have the name of the brand on the front. The same was visible in Jadeja’s post where only “India”, BCCI’s logo and “ICC WTC Final 2021” is written on the sweater. The official jersey is also highly likely to be on the same lines.
Jadeja, 32, had last played for India during the New Year’s Test of India’s tour of Australia in Sydney earlier this year. Ruled out of the historic Brisbane Test and the England series at home due to an injury, Jadeja had returned to the field in the now postponed Indian Premier League 2021.
Part of India’s 20-member squad for the tour of England, Jadeja is among the four spin-bowling contenders also comprising of Ravichandran Ashwin, Washington Sundar and Axar Patel. Going forward, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see India captain Virat Kohli playing both Jadeja and Ashwin in the Test Championship final.
In the five Tests that Jadeja has played in England, he has picked 16 wickets at an average and strike rate of 42.37 and 87.3 respectively. In 10 Test batting innings on the English soil, Jadeja’s 276 runs have come at an average of 30.66 with the help of two half-centuries.
