India tour of Australia 2020 fixtures: India's tour of Australia likely to start with ODIs; to play day-night Test in Adelaide

India tour of Australia 2020 fixtures: Both CA and BCCI are said to have zeroed in on the itinerary for the high-profile tour.

The high-profile and much-discussed India’s tour of Australia is likely to begin from the last week of November with a three-match ODI series in Brisbane. According to ESPNcricinfo, the Indian players will travel directly from the UAE to Brisbane after the culmination of IPL 2020.

Upon reaching Brisbane, the Indian contingent will have to quarantine for two weeks to adhere to the current COVID-19 protocol in Queensland. It still remains to be seen if players will be allowed to train during their quarantine period.

If Queensland government grants permission for the same, expect the ODI series to be played between November 25-30. It is further reported that both CA (Cricket Australia) and BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) are awaiting for government’s permission before making public the fixtures of a full tour.

The ODI series will be followed by a three-match T20I series between the two teams from December 3-8 in Adelaide. Much like their last tour of Australia in 2018-19, India will play a four-match Test series in addition to three ODIs and T20Is each.

Anticipated to start from December 17-21, the first Test match will also be India’s first overseas day-night Test match and second overall. While the first Test match will be played in Adelaide, the second one will be the usual Boxing Day fixture in Melbourne.
