India vs Australia MCG tickets: IND vs AUS Boxing Day Test capacity increased to 30,000 per day

India vs Australia MCG tickets: The SportsRush present before you full ticketing details for the second AUS vs IND Test.

The second Test of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia will begin from December 26 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The match going on as originally planned is a massive development for Cricket Australia given serious doubts over it had emerged after the second COVID-19 wave in Victoria.

It was in the last week of June that former Australia captain Mark Taylor had expressed concerns around conducting the match in Melbourne and was followed by WACA putting their hand up to host the match in the absence of an international fixture.

While Sydney and Canberra have already hosted international matches this summer, Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane are next in line to host India during the four-match Test series.

As far as the fans are concerned, a refreshing update for them lies in the fact that Cricket Australia have now received the permission to allow 30,000 spectators per day during the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne.

Much like the Sydney Cricket Ground and the Manuka Oval, MCG will also host fans albeit in a restricted manner. The same was made public via a tweet by Cricket Australia.

After hosting the Boxing Day Test, Melbourne will also host as many as 10 league stage matches of the imminent 10th season of the Big Bash League across the MCG and Docklands Stadium. For full BBL 2020-21 fixtures, click here.
