An Ishan Kishan scintillating double century paving the way for a huge 227-run victory for team India at Chattogram, might have acted as the soothing ointment to the heavy bruise handed by hosts Bangladesh in the ODI series, but it was yet again an ordinary show of Cricket by the ‘Men in Blue’ in the White-ball format.

Following the Asia Cup, the T20 World Cup debacle, and now a 50-Over series loss against the lower-ranked Bangladesh, team India will now culminate the ongoing tour with a two-match Test series beginning December 14, with the first Test match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, in Chattogram.
Team India will play the first Test in the absence of their all-format skipper Rohit Sharma, who has headed back to Mumbai after suffering from a left-thumb injury. It remains to be seen whether or not he manages to join the squad before the final Test match.
India vs Bangladesh Test squad
With India’s injury woes continuing unabated, the team will take the field in the absence of allrounder Ravindra Jadeja, and pacer Mohammed Shami, both of who were part of the initially selected squad. While Jadeja is yet to regain fitness after undergoing a knee surgery, Shami is recovering from a shoulder injury.
Left-arm spinner from Uttar Pradesh Saurabh Kumar has been added to the squad in Jadeja’s absence, and might well make his Test debut in the imminent series. Navdeep Saini, and most recently Jaydev Unadkat, have been included in the squad to fill in for Shami.
In the absence of Rohit, KL Rahul will be the stand-in skipper for team India in the first Test.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, have named a 17-member squad for the series, with the veteran allrounder Shakib-al-Hasan to lead the side.
Left-handed wicket-keeper batter Zakir Hasan has earned his maiden Test call-up, after consistent performances in First-Class Cricket.
