India Women cricket team coach: Indian Women team support staff and coach list for Australia T20Is

Indian Women’s cricket team registered a memorable win against the world champions Australia in a jam-packed DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday. The Indian team lost the first match, but they have levelled the series with three more T20Is to go.

India Women opt to bowl in the 2nd T20I, and the Australian side posted a mammoth total of 187-1 in the 1st innings, where Beth Mooney and Tahlia McGrath scored their half-centuries. Deepti Sharma took the solitary wicket for the Indian team. In return, the Indian team posted the same total.

Smriti Mandhana scored a half-century for the Indian team, whereas Richa Ghosh blinder played a blinder at the end. In the Super Over, India scored 20 runs, whereas Australia managed to score just 16, losing the match by 4 runs in the Super Over. The 3rd T20I will now be played on 14th December.

India Women cricket team coach

There are some changes made to the Indian women’s cricket team’s coaching team with head coach Ramesh Powar given the work at the NCA. He will now be working under VVS Laxman as a spin-bowling coach for Men’s cricket. Recently, former India and Rajasthan batter Hrishikesh Kanitkar was named as the batting coach of the side.

Kanitkar has some coaching experience under his belt as he was the head coach of the India U-19 team that won the world cup earlier this year. He has also worked in Ranji Trophy with Goa and Tamil Nadu. He has represented India India in 2 tests and 34 ODIs from 1997-2000. In FC cricket, Kanitkar has scored 10400 runs with the help of 33 centuries.

Former Assam and Railways batter Subhadeep Ghosh is the fielding coach. Meanwhile, former Goa player Amogh Pandit is the fitness trainer of the side. There is no confirmation about the head coach of the side at the moment.
