Ishan Kishan IPL 2020: Twitter reactions on Kishan and Quinton de Kock registering a 10-wicket win vs CSK

Ishan Kishan IPL 2020: The uncapped Indian batsman accepted the opportunity to open the batting with both hands at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

During the 41st match of the ongoing 13th season of the Indian Premier League between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians in Sharjah, Mumbai Indians beat Chennai Super Kings by 10 wickets to register a dominating victory.

Chasing a 115-run target, Mumbai thrived on the back of an unbeaten 116-run opening partnership between Quinton de Kock and Ishan Kishan. The left-handed pair attacked the opposition bowlers to make them look clueless just like their batsmen.

Kishan, who got the opportunity to open the batting in place of injured regular captain in Rohit Sharma, grabbed the chance with both as he registered his fifth IPL half-century in a thumping manner. In what was his second of this season, Kishan has once again justified him playing ahead of senior batsman Saurabh Tiwary in Indians’ Playing XI.

Outperforming his senior partner in de Kock (46 not out), Kishan ended up scoring 68* (37) with the help of six fours and five sixes as Indians sealed the chase in the 13th over.

Earlier, Mumbai bowlers registered a comprehensive performance to restrict Chennai Super Kings to 114/9 in 20 overs after stand-in captain Kieron Pollard won the toss and chose to field.

Having scored 52* (47) with the help of four fours and two sixes at No. 7, CSK all-rounder Sam Curran was the highlight of their batting innings. While MI pacer Trent Boult was the pick of their bowlers with figures of 4-1-18-4, spinner Rahul Chahar and spearhead Jasprit Bumrah also chipped in with a couple of wickets each.
