John Davies Oval Queenstown Pitch Report for NZ vs SL 3rd T20I

New Zealand will take on Sri Lanka in the third T20I of the three-match series at the John Davies Oval in Queenstown. This is one of the most scenic cricket grounds in the world and an international match is taking place here after more than nine years of wait.

After losing the first T20I in a super-over, the Blackcaps made an excellent return in the second match. Pacer Adam Milne was at his very best, and he will love bowling at this ground as well. The batters of the side are looking in great form as well.

Talking about Sri Lanka, the batting of the side has struggled throughout the tour. Spinner Maheesh Theekshana has been really good for the side so far in the series. Batter Kusal Perera is looking in decent touch, and he would want the other batters to assist him as well.

This is the first T20I match on this ground, and it will be interesting to see how the pitch will behave here. Not a lot of games have been played in Queenstown, but recently a couple of Super Smash 2022-23 matches took place here. In both of those games, the pacers had their say.

A fresh pitch is again expected in this match, and the fast bowlers are expected to dominate. It is an open stadium, so the breeze will definitely help the bowlers in swinging the ball. There is a good amount of bounce as well which can trouble the batters. To score runs, the players must settle down before playing their shots.

The boundaries are small at this ground which will favour the batters, and the outfield is quite fast. Out of four T20s played here, three of them are won by the chasing teams. Both captains would like to use the bowl first after winning the toss as they would want to take advantage of the hard new pitch with the ball.
