Kohli wicket today: Moeen Ali castles Virat Kohli in 3rd Pune ODI

Virat Kohli wicket today: The Indian captain has been dismissed in a similar fashion twice by the English all-rounder now.

During the third ODI of the ongoing England’s tour of India in Pune, England all-rounder Moeen Ali has become the first spinner to clean bowled India captain Virat Kohli in international cricket.

Kohli, who was left bamboozled by an Ali delivery in the second Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, was again deceived by vicious turn as the right-arm off-spinner made an instant impact at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium.

Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the 15th over, Kohli followed his two half-centuries in the series with 7 (10) comprising of a boundary. It all had happened on the fourth delivery of the 18th over when Kohli aimed at punching an Ali delivery through the off-side.

Having said that, with the ball turning sharply into the right-hand batsman, Kohli was in no position to adjust and defend the ball. Had Kohli read the turn at the right time, he would’ve ideally played the ball towards the long-on region.

After England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and chose to field, India got off to a brisk start on the back of opening batsmen Rohit Sharma (38) and Shikhar Dhawan (67) putting on board a 103-run opening stand. With India’s top three getting out quickly, the visitors staged a brilliant comeback into the match.
