MA Chidambaram Stadium IPL Records 2023: Most Runs, Wickets, Highest Innings Totals, Run Chases at Chepauk
Having already hosted seven home matches for Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing 16th season of the Indian Premier League, the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium will be hosting two out of the four playoff matches across as many days. Chennai, which had last hosted Qualifier 1 four years ago, will be hosting both Qualifier 1 and Eliminator this time round.
Following 2011, 2012 and 2019, IPL 2023 will only be the fourth season when an IPL playoff match will be played at the Chepauk. The same is not surprising despite CSK’s stellar IPL record over the years as the city has lost out on hosting matches multiple times due to various different reasons.
Popularly known as Super Kings’ den, this venue should assist the home team even during the playoffs. Taking into consideration Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his men’s know-how about this ground, the advantage certainly lies with them ahead of Qualifier 1 despite the fact that they have never defeated Gujarat Titans till now.
