MS Dhoni given wrongly out against Afghanistan

MS Dhoni given wrongly out against Afghanistan: An unlucky Dhoni was seen walking out to the pavilion after the umpire ruled him out lbw.

During the fifth match of the Super Four stage of the ongoing Asia Cup between India and Afghanistan at Dubai, India’s stand-in captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was adjourned lbw off Afghanistan’s Javed Ahmadi.

Having watched the umpire raising his finger, Dhoni’s first reaction was to opt for the review. To him being unfortunate, India were no longer left with a review as it was consumed by Lokesh Rahul after he got out in the 21st over.

Dhoni’s dismissal happened on the penultimate delivery of the 26th over when he missed a flick on the bowling of Ahmadi. After the ball struck Dhoni’s pads, the Afghani fielders went up in unison.

However, the replays confirmed that the ball would have went on to miss the leg stump, something which he was sure about but India not having a review remaining went against him. Dhoni ended up scoring 8 (17).

With Dhoni getting out in the 26th over, India still required 110 runs in the next 24 overs.
