During the 41st match of the ongoing season between the Stars and Melbourne Renegades, not once but twice in the same innings were the two batters – Joe Clarke (3rd Over) and Beau Webster (16th Over) awarded maximums by the umpire, courtesy of the new rule change which no longer rules the delivery as ‘dead’ upon hitting the roof.
While the rules did frustrate the Renegades, as both the shots deserved to land nowhere else but in the palms of the fielders, they could truly afford a smile in the end as the ultimate result read that they won the contest by 6 runs.
Marvel Stadium roof
The Marvel or the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne is the only one in Australia with a retractable roof. In a sport where ideal weather conditions are an important prerequisite, this particular facility has acted as a boon for uninterrupted play.
This 55,000 seating capacity stadium is the sporting home of the Melbourne Renegades, also hosts some of the other big events in Soccer, Rugby, or renowned performances from the Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Andre Rieu and the likes.
The multi-facility, one-of-a-kind stadium boasts of a free high density Wi-Fi network and 1,500 HD IPTV networks, which provide spectators the best experiences possible for an event.
As far as the stadium’s roof is concerned, it is designed in such a way that the spectators’ event viewing experience does not get hampered in any way, whether or not the roof is opened or closed.
Is Marvel Stadium air conditioned?
Unfortunately, the Marvel Stadium does not have an air-conditioning facility, and it may become difficult for some spectators during the extreme summer months to enjoy the event with the roof closed, due to lack of proper air circulation.
