Man of the Match today IPL 2020: Who was awarded Man of the Match in IPL 2020 Final?

Man of the Match today IPL 2020: The fast bowler from Mumbai Indians was awarded with the ‘Man of the Match’ award in IPL 2020 final.

During the final match of the ongoing 13th season of the Indian Premier League between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets to lift their fifth IPL title overall and first while chasing.

Playing his sixth IPL final, Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma underwent a change of form as his 39th IPL half-century sowed seeds of his team’s victory at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Being among the boundaries against the new ball itself, Sharma put on display the big-match player inside him to eventually score 68 (51) with the help of five fours and four sixes. Apart from Sharma, Indians’ best batsman this season in Ishan Kishan also played sensibly to score 33* (19) with the help of three fours and a six.

Earlier, Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer had won the toss and chose to bat. Taking the opportunity of bowling with the new ball, Indians fast bowler Trent Boult drew first blood by sending back Marcus Stoinis (0) and Ajinkya Rahane (2) to the pavilion cheaply.

Other than Capitals’ two tried and tested names, Boult also dismissed Shimron Hetmyer (5) in the 18th over to further dent the opposition. Boult, who won the ‘Man of the Match’ award in IPL 2020 final, ended the season as Mumbai’s second-highest bowler with his 25 wickets coming at an average of 18.28, an economy rate of 7.97 and a strike rate of 13.76.

“Like the powerplay some days. Yeah! It’s been a good couple of months. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being with the franchise. We’ve had a good couple of months and to get across the line is all worth it.

“Little bit of a niggle coming in, but of course I wanted to be on the stage doing my thing. Sometimes there are nerves but I’d like to say I’m relatively experienced, it’s just another match,” Boult told Star Sports during the post-match presentation ceremony.
