Mitchell Starc finger injury: Mitch Starc finger blood photos from Boxing Day Test

Australia have stamped their authority in the Boxing Day test against South Africa after the completion of day three. The day ended an hour early because of the rain, and none of the teams will be bothered by it. South Africa managed to duck the last phase of the day, and Australian players will get a much-deserved rest.

South Africa’s Anrich Nortje was at his very best in the morning, and he bowled a lethal spell and took the wickets of David Warner and Travis Head. Australia’s Alex Carey scored his maiden test century, whereas all-rounder Cameron Green came out to bat despite being injured.

Australia declared the innings at 575-8 after Green completed his half-century. In the 2nd innings, South Africa lost one wicket for 15 runs before the rain arrived. Green will not bowl in the rest of the match, but the sight of Mitch Starc bowling for Australia was a delight for the Aussie fans.

Mitchell Starc finger injury

Australian pacer Mitchell Starc surprised everyone by coming to bowl in the 2nd innings of South Africa. With Green already injured, it would have been tough for the Australian side in the bowling department, but the senior Aussie pacer took the responsibility despite getting injured in the 1st innings.

Starc injured his finger while attempting a catch, and he even struggled to bowl in the nets after that. Even Nathan Lyon said that Starc’s injury was not great. Although, Starc came on to bat in the Australian innings, and also bowled the first over of the innings as well.

However, it is clear that Starc is playing with pain, and he is looking in discomfort every time his finger comes into play. Some pictures have also been released where it is clear that his finger is bleeding. It is certainly a really good professional attitude by the left-arm pacer as he is playing for his nation despite being in pain.
