Chennai Super Kings batter Devon Conway has become the ninth batter to score four consecutive half-centuries in the history of the Indian Premier League. In what is only his second IPL season, Conway has scored half-centuries in a row against Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders thus far.

Speaking of all T20s, Conway has become only the fifth cricketer after Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, David Warner and Babar Azam to have registered four back-to-back T20 half-centuries twice.
One of the six batters to have scored five successive T20 half-centuries, Conway could well become the fourth batter to do the same in the IPL. Assuming the 31-year old player manages to touch the 50-run mark against Royals in Jaipur on Thursday, he will become the first batter in the history of T20s to complete five consecutive half-centuries twice.
Conway achieving such an amount of success is not surprising for overseas openers have contributed a lot to Super Kings’ success in the past as well. Not known for quintessential big-hitting skills, Conway has the acumen to find a place in the sun on the back of playing trademark risk-free shots bereft of forced innovation.
In this day and age where batters do their best to better their stroke-making arsenal in order to adjust to the shortest format, Conway is an epitome of the fact that even batters with orthodox style of play can work wonders.
Most Consecutive 50 in IPL History
IPL 2018 was the only season of the biggest T20 league in the world where as many as three batters had scored four consecutive half-centuries.
