Most Titles In IPL History By A Team

Freshly coming on the back of defeating Gujarat Titans in Indian Premier League 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium last night, Chennai Super Kings have entered the same league as Mumbai Indians. Most successful franchises in the history of the biggest T20 competition around the world, both MI and CSK have five IPL trophies under their belt now.

Having won their first title way back in 2010, Super Kings have since registered title victories in 2011, 2018, 2021 and 2023. First team to win consecutive IPL titles, readers must note that all these season wins have come under Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Indians, on the other hand, had first tasted success in 2013 only to follow it in each alternate year until 2019. In the following year, they had become only the second team to win back-to-back seasons of the IPL.

The latest triumph has equated Dhoni with Rohit Sharma as far as captains with most IPL trophies are concerned. Additionally, Dhoni is currently the fifth player after Jasprit Bumrah, Kieron Pollard, Aditya Tare and Hardik Pandya to have been part of IPL-winning squads. Having said that, as players, Sharma and Ambati Rayudu top this list with as many as six IPL seasons wins to their name. Having already announced his retirement, it was a memorable finish to a career spanning over a couple of decades for the 37-year old player.
