Ollie Pope dismissal vs Pakistan: Watch Shaheen Afridi bowls unplayable delivery to dismiss English batsman at Old Trafford

Ollie Pope dismissal vs Pakistan: The English batsman had no answer whatsoever to a delivery from Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi.

During the fourth day of the first Test of the ongoing Pakistan’s tour of England in Manchester, England batsman Ollie Pope was a tad unfortunate to receive a brute of a delivery from Pakistan speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi to lose his wicket.

It all happened on the penultimate delivery of the 45th over when Afridi generated unexpected bounce from the surface. Looking to defend a good length delivery on the front foot, Pope ended up lobbing it in the air for he had no other option against Afridi’s unplayable bounce.

Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan, who was fielding at gully, ran forward to grab a simple catch. Coming in to bat at No. 5 in the 39th over, Pope ended up scoring 7 (18) including one boundary to hand Afridi his first wicket of this innings.

Chasing a 277-run target, England have been reduced to 167/5 in 53 overs at tea on Day 4. A swift 50-run partnership for the sixth wicket between wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler (32 not out) and seamer Chris Woakes (26 not out) has doubtlessly improved their position in the match.

However, them still needing 110 runs to win the match calls for an intriguing third session today. It is worth mentioning that the match surely has it in it to finish today itself with both teams very much eligible to register a victory.
