“Pure Love”: AB de Villiers’ Wife’s Love for Shah Rukh Khan Reason Behind Picking KKR over RCB as Favourite IPL Team

The jam-packed crowd at the Eden Gardens is absolutely going bonkers as IPL returns back at the venue after nearly four years, with the home side Kolkata Knight Riders taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore  in the ninth match of the ongoing season.

While KKR fans have turned up in numbers, the stadium is filled up to the core with Virat Kohli fans as well, especially after his stellar knock against the Mumbai Indians during their opening match of the season.

As if the environment wasn’t electric enough, the presence of KKR’s co-owner and Bollywood mega icon Shah Rukh Khan in the stands, has added further spice to the ongoing contest.

Back at the broadcasting centre, former South Africa and RCB legendary batter AB de Villiers, who was recently also inducted in the RCB Hall of Fame, had his head scratching and was left in splits when his better half Danielle de Villiers left him in shock while naming her favourite IPL team.

As part of a promotional gig with Jio Cinema, the official streaming platform of IPL 2023, AB de Villiers and wife Danielle were involved in a fun ‘Q & A session’ with the renowned host Danish Sait.

While the enviable love and bond the star couple share with each other is not a novel development by any means, Danielle’s love for Shah Rukh Khan was enough for her to pick KKR as her favourite team, leaving the Proteas superstar slack-jawed.

While the duo named ‘Coldplay’ and ‘Sushi’ in unison when asked about their favourite artiste and cuisine respectively, de Villiers was pretty quick to name RCB as his favourite IPL team, but was surprised when his wife did not hesitate even for a split-second to pronounce KKR as her favourite.

As it turned out, her love for Shah Rukh made it a pretty obvious choice. “KKR. What? It’s Shah Rukh Khan’s team. He’s like pure love!,” answered Danielle.

A surprised de Villiers was like, “Are you kidding?”.

Danielle de Villiers then left the video frame wearing the ‘it’s not that big a deal’ look on her face, as she winked at Danish Sait, leaving her gobsmacked husband in a state of absolute disarray off-the field.
