A total of 32 teams split into four groups, began with a full-fledged Ranji Trophy 2022-23 season from December 13 onwards, after a gap of two years.

This means that a total of 135 matches will be played across different Indian cities over the course of next two months, with the grand finale to take place on February 20, 2023.

The news which made it to the headlines on Wednesday came from Goa’s Porvorim where the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s 23-year-old son, Arjun Tendulkar, smashed his maiden First-Class century on debut while playing for Goa against Rajasthan.

Arjun stitched together a 221-run partnership for the 6th wicket alongside Suyash Prabhudessai, who scored a double century – 212 off 416 balls.

He was dismissed at the score of 120 (207) off Kamlesh Nagarkoti, but not before smashing 16 Fours and 2 Sixes.

Another highlight of the day came from Hyderabad, where Narayan Jagadeesan (116*) continued batting like a dream to notch-up yet another century, in the red ball format this time around. Alongside Sai Sudharsan (87*), the duo have already posted 203/0 in the board, in reply to Hyderabad’s 395.

Ranji Trophy tickets

There is no designated app or a website to visit in order to book tickets for the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 matches. In fact, a majority of the match venues across different parts of the country, do not allow entry of fans for this four-day tournament.

While there is no official update whether or not a particular or some state Cricket associations have allowed entry of fans within the stadiums, fans will have to get an official conformation on the same by themselves via the local newspapers or the online news portals.

As for the ongoing Ranji Trophy match no.1 for all the teams, Days 3 and 4 will take place on Thursday and Friday, after which the next match for each of them will commence from December 20 onwards.
