Seddon Park Pitch Report: How will the Hamilon Pitch Play for Tomorrow’s NZ vs SL 3rd ODI?

The third ODI of the three-match series between New Zealand and Sri Lanka will be played at Seddon Park in Hamilton. The second ODI of the series was abandoned due to rain, and all eyes are now on the final ODI of the series. Seddon Park’s pitch has produced some close contests in the past.

New Zealand won the first ODI, and they cannot lose the series now. All of their IPL-bound players are not available, but they are still a very strong side in their home conditions. Pacer Matt Henry can be deadly on this wicket, and all-rounder Daryl Mitchell would also want to contribute with both bat and the ball.

The Sri Lankan team will find the conditions here easier to bat on as compared to Auckland. Captain Dasun Shanaka will carry a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders, and he will need the support of senior players like Kusal Mendis and Angelo Mathews.

Seddon Park Pitch Report

The Seddon Park in Hamilton is one of the flattest tracks to bat out there in New Zealand. There is a good amount of bounce on this track, and the batters will be able to take advantage of the same. If timed well, it will be really difficult for the fielders to stop the boundary as the outfield is quite fast here in Hamilton.

In the initial overs of the match, the new ball bowlers can swing the ball. This is an open ground, and the breeze will flow here. Matt Henry is the third-highest wicket-taker at this ground, and he can be a big asset for the Kiwi side. After settling down, the batters will be able to play their shots.

The last ODI here between New Zealand and India was abandoned due to rain, but the pitch was excellent for batting during the duration of play. A high-scoring encounter is expected on this very decent batting track. The average first innings score of 248 runs is a bit of a surprise as the track is much better than that score.
