West Indies batter Shimron Hetmyer is currently representing Rajasthan Royals in Indian Premier League 2023. When the Royals bought him for INR 8.5 crore last season, it raised a lot of eyebrows, but the Southpaw has proved everyone wrong with his performances with the bat.

Hetmyer is a name that is talked about a lot in Caribbean cricket. He got out on a duck in three out of five innings during the 2014 U-19 World Cup. However, he made it count in the 2016 U-19 World Cup by leading his side to a title. Guyana Amazon Warriors signed him for Caribbean Premier League after the victory.
Hetmyer continued to impressed everyone in first-class cricket and he was handed his Test debut in 2017 against Pakistan. In 2019, he got his first IPL contract when Royal Challengers Bangalore bought him for a price of INR 4.25 crore in the auction.
Shimron Hetmyer Family
Shimron was born in Guyana in 1996 to Gladstone Hetmyer (father) and Ingrid Hetmyer (mother). Gladstone used to work at sugar estates. He has one elder brother (Seon Hetmyer) and two elder sisters (Shonette Hetmyer and Shonelle Hetmyer).
Seon used to play inter-county cricket and he inspired Shimron to pickup the cricket bat. Shimron used to accompany Seon at ‘Young Warriors Club’ ground every weekend. At the age of nine, Shimron got selected for his school team and never looked back after it.
Hetmyer got engaged to Nirvani Umrao in 2019. Both of them posted photos of each other confirming their engagement on the Christmas Day. It is still not known whether both of them are married or not.

Hetmyer and Umrao met each other on Facebook and they have always been open about their relationship. Umrao lives in Guyana only but is from Indian descent. The details about her professional life is not available on the public forum.
Shimron Hetmyer children
Hetmyer and Umrao welcomed their first child on May 10, 2022. They named their baby boy, Nate Hetmyer. Hetmyer left the Royals’ camp in between IPL 2022 for the birth of Nate. He later joined the squad again for the playoff stages.
