Steve Smith Birthday: Twitter reactions on Steve Smith's 31st Birthday

Twitter reactions on Steve Smith’s 31st Birthday: The outstanding Australian batsman is celebrating his 31st birthday today.

Australia batsman Steve Smith is celebrating his 31st birthday today. Smith, who would have completed the 13th season of the Indian Premier League had it not been for the COVID-19 pandemic lately, recently resumed practice after the lockdown in many countries including Australia.

Expressing keenness in playing IPL 2020 if the T20 World Cup gets postponed, Smith also revealed his ambition of dismissing India captain Virat Kohli in an interaction post resuming training in New South Wales.

Smith, who made his national debut across formats in 2010 as a bowling all-rounder, has successfully transformed into being one of world’s top batsmen at the moment.

In 73 Test matches, Smith has scored 7,227 runs including 26 centuries and 29 half-centuries and is currently the third-highest run-scorer among active players. An average of 62.83 puts Smith atop in the list of active batsmen with the highest Test average (more than 5,000 Test runs).

Having scored 1,028 runs in nine Tests at an average of 73.42 and a strike rate of 54.19 including three centuries and five half-centuries in the last one year, Smith is the second-highest run-scorer in the last one year.

Known for his atypical technique, Smith is an epitome of batsmen who have succeeded big time despite the absence of a notebook-style-technique.

What followed for an 8-year-old was an instant adulation for both Ganguly and the sport. The optimist in him is waiting for the day when Punjab Kings will win their maiden Indian Premier League title. When not watching cricket, he is mostly found in a cinema hall watching a Punjabi movie.
