Sydney Cricket Ground pitch report 3rd Test: AUS vs SA pitch report of SCG for tomorrow match

Sydney Cricket Ground is set to host the 3rd test of the 3-match series between Australia and South Africa. The hosts have already won the series, and they are aiming for a whitewash. We have seen pace-friendly wickets in the initial two tests, but the track in Sydney is a bit different.

The Australian team will have a few changes going into this match. Cameron Green and Mitchell Starc are out of the match due to their injuries. Ashton Agar will certainly be an obvious replacement for Green in this match. The batting form of the Australian side looks great as well.

South Africa’s performance in the series has been absolutely poor so far, and they need to apply themselves in batting in order to get a positive result here. The bowling of the side looks decent on paper but batting is a big concern.

In the initial two matches of the series, the Australian side won the toss and opted to bowl first, but this thing may change on Sydney Cricket Ground’s track. The SCG is one of the best batting venues in the country, and it is the most spin-friendly wicket as well which can change the dimensions of both teams.

On the initial days of the game, the batters will enjoy their time out there in the middle. There are no visible demons on the wicket in the initial few days of the match. Obviously, there will be a bounce for the pacers, and they will have some help in the initial overs, but the batters can score big runs here.

As the match will go on, the track will get dried up, and the spinners will come into play in the 2nd innings of the match. The average 1st innings score here is 318 runs, whereas the average 4th innings score is 171 runs. It is clear that batting first will be the obvious decision after winning the toss here.
