T20 WC 2021 groups list: ICC have announced the list of teams in two groups comprising of six teams each for the T20 World Cup 2021.

Arch-rivals India and Pakistan will lock horns in a Group match of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Both the teams have found a place in Group 2 alongside New Zealand and Afghanistan.
Super 12 of T20 World Cup 2021 will comprise of two groups of six teams each. Each team will get five matches to play in the group stage and the top two teams from both the groups will qualify for the semi-finals.
As far as the rest of the teams in Group 2 are concerned, they will be known during the tournament after the completion of Round 1. In Round 1, eight teams have been divided into two groups. Top two teams from both the groups will enter Group 1 and Group 2 of Super 12 according to their position on the points table.

“We are delighted to announce the groups for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. There are some great match ups offered by the groups and it starts to bring the event to life for our fans as our first multi-team event since the onset of the global pandemic draws closer,” ICC Acting Chief Executive Geoff Allardice said in a statement.

Readers must note that one of the venues in UAE will co-host Round 1 alongside Oman. Super 12s, on the other hand, will be entirely played across three UAE venues namely Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai.
“It is good to get Oman in the frame of world cricket with the hosting of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. It will help a lot of young players take an interest in the game. We know it will be a world class event in this part of the world,” BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said in a statement.
Round 1
Group A: Sri Lanka, Ireland, Netherlands, Namibia.
Group B: Bangladesh, Scotland, Papua New Guinea, Oman.

Super 12 Cricket (Round 2)
Group 1: England, Australia, South Africa, West Indies, A1 and B2.
Group 2: India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan, A2 and B1.
