"Thanks for reducing RCB purse,": Rajasthan Royals take a dig at RCB buying Glenn Maxwell; Royal Challengers respond

Rajasthan Royals take a dig at RCB: The two Royal franchises took a dig at each other for their sumptuous buys in IPL auction 2021.

Indian Premier League franchises Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore took the IPL auction 2021 battle from the auction room to social media platform Twitter. The admins of both the franchises were seen taking digs at each other regarding the amount of money they spent on two players.

It is worth mentioning that Royals and Royal Challengers have spent a total of INR 30.50 crore for two players namely Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and South Africa all-rounder.

While Bangalore bought Maxwell for INR 14.25 crore, Rajasthan acquired the services of Morris for INR 16.25 crore. Considering how both the players had below par IPL 2020 seasons, them earning the amount of money they did is doubtlessly astonishing.

It all started after Royals took to their Twitter account for thanking Maxwell’s for causing a big hole in RCB’s purse. “Thanks for reducing @RCBTweets purse,” Royals tweeted which also contained an attached GIF.

While there was no immediate response from Bangalore, they waited for the right time to reply. Not having to wait for much long, RCB found the right time when Rajasthan went all out for Morris. Much like RR, RCB also posted a GIF and used emojis in an amusing manner to respond back.

In addition to Morris, Rajasthan have also bought the likes of India all-rounder Shivam Dube (INR 4.4 crore) and Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman (INR 1 crore) as of now. Despite bidding heavily for Australia fast bowler Jhye Richardson, RCB couldn’t seal the deal against Punjab Kings and are yet to buy any other player.
