This is How MS Dhoni Saved His Fan's Life During World Twenty20 2014

The legendary Indian Cricket team captain MS Dhoni had remarked a few years ago that after he would cease playing the sport, he shall rather wish people would remember him as a good human than a good cricketer.

The 41-year-old had further added that if people could simply recollect the fact that he was a good human being who played Cricket, it would be a really big compliment for him.

Years down the line, a not-so-old video of an MS Dhoni and a team India fan has come to light a few days ago, wherein he opens up on the altruistic side of the man himself, and claims to have been literally handed a lifeline, thanks to Dhoni’s direct intervention in order to address the seriousness of his illness.

In an old video shared by CNNNews 18, a fan recollects how the then team India captain during the World Twenty20 2014 in Bangladesh – MS Dhoni, had helped him book a direct flight from Dhaka to Chandigarh in order to get himself treated of Dengue.

The fan revealed that he had fallen severely ill in Bangladesh during the World Cup, and since he was a pure vegetarian, he had not been able to eat anything for the past 14 days in the city of Dhaka.

2014 me main Bangladesh me bimaar ho gaya tha bahut zyada. Dengue ka type ban gaya tha, maine 14 din se vahan khaana nahi khaya tha, kyunki pure vegetarian tha. Mai kai baar ground mein gira. Dhoni sir ne personally aake meet kiya aur unhone mere reports dekhe [I had fallen severely ill in Bangladesh in 2014. Was suffering from Dengue and had not eaten anything since I was a pure vegetarian. I even fell on the ground a few times (due to illness), after which Dhoni sir personally met me and had a look at my reports],” remarked the fan.

“Unki vajah se main bach paya” – fan on Dhoni

The fan further added that after Dhoni had taken a look at this report, he had him arranged a flight from the city to Chandigarh in order to get him treated, on the day India were to play the World Cup semi-final match against South Africa.

“South Africa aur India ka semi-final tha. Usi raat to unhone mera flight karwaya – Jet Airways tha, Dhaka to Chandigarh. To unki vajah se main bach paaya [He had arranged a Jet Airways flight for me from Dhaka to Chandigarh on the night India were to play the semi-final match against South Africa. It was because of him, that I could save my life],” the fan further added.
