During the second T20I of the ongoing India’s tour of Sri Lanka in Colombo, Sri Lanka all-rounder Wanidu Hasaranga was seen imitating former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni by successfully nailing a no-look backhand flick.
It all happened on the second delivery of the penultimate over when India vice-captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar (13*) cleared his front leg to hit a Hasaranga delivery towards long-on for a couple of runs.
Just as debutant Nitish Rana (9) was running back towards the non-striker’s end to complete the second run, Hasaranga collected the throw and hit the stumps with a backhand flick without even looking at the target. With Rana comfortable making his crease, there wasn’t any appeal for a run-out.

After Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and invited India to bat first, the visitors scored a mediocre 132/5 in 20 overs on a sluggish pitch at the R Premdasa Stadium.
Opening the batting with debutant Ruturaj Gaikwad (21), India captain Shikhar Dhawan top-scored for his team with his 40 (42) comprising of five fours.
Sri Lanka spinner Akila Dananjaya, who dismissed Dhawan and wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson (7), was the pick of the bowlers for his team with bowling figures of 4-0-29-2. Apart from Dananjaya, Shanaka, Dushmantha Chameera and Hasaranga picked a wicket apiece.
