Weather At Edgbaston Cricket Ground Today: BBC Weather Birmingham For 1st Ashes 2023 Test Day 2

As if England and Australia weren’t entertaining enough on the first day of Ashes 2023 that an uninvited guest in the form of rain has made its presence felt right before the start of play on the second day of the ongoing first Test match. As a result, weather at Edgbaston Cricket Ground will allure eyeballs throughout the day in the hope of it not playing spoilsport.

With it raining over the stadium less than an hour before play, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the start is delayed. Even if play begins on time, the weather prediction is such that it could force players back into their dressing rooms more than once especially in the first two sessions.

Having said that, what is surprising is that fact that it has started to rain in Birmingham today. Taking into consideration how there wasn’t any forecast for rain to pour down in the city until Thursday night, weather gods changing their plans is typical state of weather conditions during an English summer.

Weather At Edgbaston Cricket Ground

Reliable weather portal AccuWeather predicts a “Yellow Warning for Thunderstorms” at this venue on Saturday. With cloudy and thunderous weather dominating proceedings at this point in time, it is noteworthy that the platform is predicting a rain probability in vicinity of 50% during the morning session. The number will only reduce to around 30% in the third session of the day.

If BBC’s weather forecast in Birmingham is concerned, a weather warning is predicted there as well. While the temperature is more or less the same across both the platforms, there’s a considerable difference in the rain probability. As per BBC, rain probability will be between 10-15% in the first session on Day 2. Subsequently, they are hardly predicting any more rain to pour down in the city today.
