Weather forecast Old Trafford Manchester: Will play happen on Day 4 of England vs West Indies 3rd Test?

Weather forecast Old Trafford Manchester: The SportsRush presents for you the detailed weather forecast for the third ENG vs WI Test.

On the eve of the ongoing third Test between England and West Indies in Manchester, there were strong chances of rain playing spoilsport on the third day (yesterday) of the match.

Considering how weather prediction can’t be entirely reliable especially during a five-day Test match, rain didn’t affect the match in any manner yesterday. On the contrary, the fourth day today hasn’t witnessed a ball being bowled since morning.

With the same being evident on Day 3, England initiated a quick declaration to have enough time with them to bundle out West Indies in a bid to win the series (2-1) and regain the Wisden Trophy.

Chasing a 399-run target, West Indies are currently 10/2 in six overs. With Kraigg Brathwaite and Shai Hope in the middle, the visitors sure need a strong partnership to draw the match if not win it. Remember, a drawn result will ensure that West Indies retain the Wisden Trophy.

Continuous rain has already washed out the first session today and is all set to do the same with the second session as well. If the rain stops, there might be some play in the third session but it will depend on how quickly the ground staff prepares favourable conditions for playing.

Therefore, fans should start preparing for a fifth consecutive gripping Day 5 finish in the series as England will require eight wickets to win the match.

However, there is a possibility (55%) of light shower tomorrow morning which could further force the players to remain indoors at least in the morning session. If the same happens, West Indies would be required to bat for two sessions in a bid to draw the match.
