Cricket World Cup Prize Money: ICC announces the total prize money up for grabs for teams in the upcoming 2019 Cricket World Cup.

The countdown has begun. With less than a fortnight remaining for the mega ICC Cricket World Cup to commence, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the prize money up for grabs for the 10 teams participating in the marquee tournament.
The opening match will feature the hosts England locking horns with the mighty South Africans on My 30, 2019 at the Kennington Oval, in London. The summit clash, on the other hand will take place on July 14, 2019 at The Lord’s.
The 10 teams in the tournament will play against each other in what is known as the round-robin format- the one which was last adopted during the 1992 Cricket World Cup. Each team will play a game each against each other in the league stage.

The top four sides after 45 matches will qualify for the two semi-finals. There are prizes for each league match won.
Total Prize Money up for grabs
TheWinner of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 will earn a purse of $ 4 million, the highest prize money to date, along with the trophy that the victorious team will lift at the Lord’s on July 16.

The total prize money, which sits at $ 10 million, will see the runners-up assured of $ 2 million and the losing semi-finalists $ 800,000 each at the end of the 46-day tournament being played across 11 venues.

Winner- USD 4,000,000
Runner-up- USD 2,000,000
Losing semi-finalists- USD 800,000 each
Winners of each league stage match- USD 40,000 each (total 45 winners)
Teams that do pass the league stage- USD 10,000 each
India, along with hosts England, are the two most dangerous sides the fans and experts are bidding their claim on, to grab the silverware in this quadrennial tournament.
India will begin their campaign against the mighty South Africans on June 5, 2019 at Southampton.
