Cricketers who were haunted by ghosts presence in England

Several cricketers have felt ghosts presence in their room when they stay in England.

The power of darkness along with a dainty sound is enough to cause nervousness and perturbation to any human being in this world. We read numerous haunted stories and cricketers have gone through the exact experience in England a while ago. Cricket players from worldwide have felt it at least once in the United Kingdom.

SHANE WATSON:

Rolling back to 2005 was a famous incident of Shane Watson. The Australians stayed in an ancient Durham hotel named Lumley Castle. The series ended 1-1, but Watson felt more in-between feeling ghosts presence.

The all-rounder, who claimed he was petrified by the ghost, slept with Brett Lee after this incident. Australia’s media manager even claimed that she saw a ghost in the hotel. “I saw ghosts. I swear I’m telling the truth,” she admitted.

Some locals claimed the hotel was haunted for several years after the lady of castle, Lily Lumley was murdered by two priests in the castle when she refused to practice and follow the Catholic church.

SOURAV GANGULY:

Before the above-mentioned incident, Sourav Ganguly experienced the same back in 2002. The then Indian Skipper finished his practice, had the dinner and returned to his room. Upon that, he closed the curtains and switched off the lights to have a good sleep. Unfortunately, he heard the water sound from the bathroom. By the time he reached the restroom, the water already stopped.

Ganguly said, “I got up, switched on the lights and went to turn off the water. The taps were already off. I thought I must have dreamt it or heard it from another room. I went back to bed, making sure everything was turned off and the place was quiet, then fell back asleep.” After getting back to sleep once again, he heard the water noise and the tap was already closed.

Then he tried to sleep with the lights switched on, but couldn’t. He added: “I jumped out of bed and ran out… I was terrified and went to Robin Singh’s room, knocked on his door and asked if I could come in and stay in his room. I was the captain, so I couldn’t tell him I was scared and was worried about the ghosts, could I? Then I told him the floor would be fine and he was very kind to let me stay.”

WEST INDIES TEAM

Sourav Ganguly never stayed in the hotel again, but he was shocked that West Indies and Australia did in the coming years. To come as much amusement, the West Indians experienced the same in 2004 and stayed in another hotel in Durham.

MS DHONI, BEN STOKES, STUART BROAD

London’s Langham Hotel is another place cricketers have experienced an abnormal occurrence. In 2014, Stuart Broad claimed that restroom’s tap got switched on automatically coming as a frightening experience to his girlfriend. Ben Stokes also had sleeping problems while staying in this room. Former Indian Skipper MS Dhoni also claimed he saw a mysterious shadow inside the hotel.
