Cristiano claims Brazil would have won 5 more World Cups with him
Cristiano claims Brazil would have won 5 more World Cups with him. The revelation was made by his Juventus teammate Danilo.
Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players if not the very best to have ever played the game of football. He has achieved almost everything possible when it comes to club football. However international football is a whole different ball game.

The Portuguese has fared extremely well individually with 98 goals in 163 games. These goals have helped his side to a European Championship glory in 2016 and a UEFA Nations League triumph in 2019. A World Cup still eludes him though. However, Juventus teammate Danilo says that Cristiano Ronaldo has joked that he could have ended with not one but 5 had he been born a Brazilian.

In a recent interview, Danilo told the DAZN series Saudade:
“I have known Cris since Real Madrid and now it’s very nice reuniting with him at Juventus.
“He has an eye for detail and that, along with his natural quality, makes it impossible that he wouldn’t be reaping the results that he has been.
“If he played for Brazil, we would have five more World Cups by now, he jokes.”
Danilo: “I knew Cristiano from our time at Real Madrid and it was nice to be back with him at Juve. CR7 has this attention for detail that really explains the results he has achieved. He even told me that, if he’d played for Brazil, we would’ve won another 5 World Cups already.” pic.twitter.com/ZX0VadnfEU

Danilo and Ronaldo played at Real Madrid together before he moved to Manchester City. Danilo was picked up by Juventus this summer as part of a deal that saw Joao Cancelo move to the other direction. Despite his short stay at the Spanish capital, he has no regrets choosing Real Madrid over Barcelona.
“I must confess, at some point I had to stop and think about it,” Danilo said of the transfer dilemma he faced in 2015.
“Barcelona has shown a lot of interest, so I called my dad and asked him, ‘Pop, if it was you, where would you go?’. And he answered, ‘If it was me, I’d go to Madrid. They look like a more serious club [to work for]’.
“And, taking his life perspective into consideration, I thought, ‘Well, this helps a lot’.
“Then we settled that I was going there. And it was very nice, it was a very pleasant experience.”
Coming back to Ronaldo, Portugal now have a strong young squad; One that will only get better with time. If only Ronaldo had these players during his prime. However, an ageing Ronaldo will want to make the best out of the few years he has left and the outstanding squad he has around him in the upcoming Euro 2020 and if his body permits; World Cup 2022.
