Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken out about his old clubs Manchester United and Real Madrid. The forward plied his services to Juventus following a 100 million deal in the summer transfer window.

In the Champions League group stages, the Old Lady faced the English outfit. The Portuguese International was able to find the back of the net at Turin, but the game ended in a 2-1 defeat to Juventus. In the reverse fixture, the reigning Serie A Champions were the victors.

When he was asked about his old clubs he says that he would look back with fondness.

“Manchester? It was a great comeback, the Manchester fans have always welcomed me like when I played at Old Trafford. Even the Santiago Bernabeu was my home for many years and will always be a very special stadium for me.

“I will always have a great affection for that club and those fans with great pleasure and I expect to be well received.”

The 33-year-old year has several accolades with his club at all the clubs he has played till date. Having won the Ballon d’Or five times, Champions League five times, he was asked to pick one moment from last year.

“The highest point of 2018? My fifth Champions League trophy and the third in a row with Real Madrid.

“But I cannot fail to mention my arrival at Juventus, where I was treated very well. I feel enthusiastic about playing football at the highest level every day.

At this age, it would be tough to play in the Serie A where the defence is tough to break down. But, his goalscoring record with Juventus is phenomenal, scoring 14 goals in the Serie A alone to become the top scorer of the league halfway through the season.

Ronaldo adds on that he would want to put his team accolades ahead of individual honours as he eyes to be part of trophy galore at Turin.

“I feel the enthusiasm every day for doing what I love most, I continue to feel the motivation to do the most in all exercises. I still want to improve and help my team win trophies. I do not have a year or a goal to finish.

“I feel like I’m doing very well in every aspect and I’m going to continue to work this way for a few years. I am not obsessed with winning individual prizes. The most important thing is to win collective trophies and help the team.”

If he continues his form until the end of the season, it is likely to see him finish in the top scorers’ chart. Juventus have won 17 games and drew just two from the first half of the season.

For the eighth consecutive time, it is likely to see the Old Lady lift the Scudetto following this blistering start from Massimiliano Allegri’s side. With their talisman Ronaldo up front who has won the Champions League many times before, they are Champions League contenders as well.

Juventus will travel to Bologna on January 12th away from home followed by the fixture against AC Milan in the Supercoppa Italia finals four days later.
