Jose Mourinho parted ways with Manchester United on Tuesday following a humiliating defeat to their arch-rivals Liverpool in the weekend. The Red Devils are already below 19 points behind Jurgen Klopp’s side who are currently leading the table with 45 points. This has forced Ed Woodward to take a huge call to sack him as the festive fixture beckons.

The Red Devils manager was shown the exit door following a one-on-one chat with the Vice-Chairman Ed Woodward earlier yesterday morning before the training kicked off. He arrived at the Carrington Complex on 9:02 and was dismissed by 9:46. However, he did not leave the training center before 12:30.

Some of the football Mourinho played has always resulted in frustration from his own players. The Portuguese International adopts a defensive methodology, but the players would completely want a different strategy.

He fell out with many Real Madrid players including Cristiano Ronaldo at Santiago Bernabeu which resulted in the sack of the manager. It was the case at Chelsea following the title-winning season. The likes of Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, and Juan Mata fell out with Jose Mourinho at Chelsea.

At Manchester United, there were plenty of stars who fell out with him. His burst up with Paul Pogba in the training caught the attention and added even more to the fuel. Along with the French International, Eric Bailly, Anthony Martial, and Luke Shaw are the other players to have been unfavoured by the Portuguese International.

According to the Manchester Evening News, only four players did not let down Jose Mourinho until the end. The four players from the roster are said to be Romelu Lukaku, Ashley Young, Nemanja Matic, and Marouane Fellaini.

Romelu Lukaku, who fell out with Jose Mourinho at Chelsea has come out and said that he would anything for the former Manchester United manager to win the game.

When he was asked if he was one of Mourinho’s favorites, “One of them, yeah. Because I would go through a brick wall for him – and he knows that. He’s the type of coach where he would be honest with you and tell you how it is. And if you cannot deal with that, I mean that’s a big problem.”

On the other hand, Ashley Young has been preferred to cover the left flank of the defense has opted to stay on Jose Mourinho’s side. Nemanja Matic moved to Chelsea from Benfica when the Portuguese International was the manager at Stamford Bridge. During the summer of 2017, the Serbian star was keen to follow Mourinho and preferred a move to Old Trafford.

One of the biggest letdowns of Jose Mourinho’s managerial reign is the players will get frustrated with the number of defensive shifts they are told to put as an attacker to cover up the full-back. He trusts his defense to win titles, but his man management has been brought into question on plenty of occasions.

Last night, Manchester United accidentally announced their former star Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their new interim boss until the end of the season. Mauricio Pochettino, Laurent Blanc, Zinedine Zidane, and Leonardo Jardim are the front-runners for the permanent position at Old Trafford in the forthcoming summer.
