Cristiano Ronaldo

Yes it’s that time of the year again!

It has recently been reported that Ronaldo no longer wants to play in Spain following accusations by the Spanish authorities of tax fraud, and according to BBC Sport, the 32-year-old doesn’t understand the accusations and feels ‘very sad and really upset’.

Along with this, Spanish newspaper Marca has reported that Ronaldo has informed his Portuguese international teammates: “I’m leaving Madrid, I’m determined. There’s no turning back.

Such comments put Manchester United on red alert, as Ronaldo’s former club looked ready to swoop in for him. But things seem to have changed a little bit, as Ronaldo seemed content to play for another year at Real Madrid.

A few days back, Ronaldo scored a brilliant goal against Barcelona and then later got sent off for simulation in the same game. Frustrated by the decision, Ronaldo shoved the referee as he walked off the pitch.

That shove would prove to be costly, as Ronaldo was given a five match ban for his actions. Real Madrid and Ronaldo were aghast by the decision, as several players have gotten away after a similar reaction.

Even Messi got away with such a reaction not too long ago!

These things seem to be taking a toll on the Real Madrid star, as Ronaldo seems to have had enough. He feels that he is constantly being persecuted at Real Madrid, something that never happened to him whilst he was in England.

A source close to Ronaldo is also reporting that there is “no guarantee” that Ronaldo will stay in Madrid post August 31st, prompting rampant speculation about his immediate future.

Stranger things have happened!
