Cristiano Ronaldo's girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez reacts after Juventus' star lose in Ballon D'or 2019 race

Cristiano Ronaldo’s girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez comments after Juventus’ star loses to Lionel Messi and Virgil Van Dijk in Ballon D’or 2019.

The five-time Ballon D’or winner fell behind Lionel Messi and Virgil Van Dijk by a huge margin in the prestigious award rankings. His fierce rival Messi won it for the 6th time in his career after having an extraordinary campaign.

Van Dijk stood second by losing on to the first position by 7 points. The Portuguese International did not attend the ceremony and was present in Italy, where he was awarded as the best Serie A player of 2019.

Amidst this, Ronaldo’s girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez wrote an online post for her boyfriend’s accomplishments and it also hinted that she was also talking about his Ballon D’or loss.

Roughly translated into English, the post reads:

“Incomparable, unstoppable, brave and non-conformist. There are the stats and the titles and you’re the star with the best results in them, with a UEFA Nations League, a Coppa Italia, a Serie A title and the Serie A best player award.

“But it’s not just the prizes or the titles that speak for you, even though you have so many. What says the most about you is your passion, your desire to overcome and your teamwork.”

“You’re an inspiration in football and sport for millions and millions of people. You’re not scared of challenges and you go out of your comfort zone, surpassing yourself continually and showing the world how to be number one. I love you.”

Easily the most delicate response by anyone from Ronaldo’s family to the Ballon D’or events. Unlike, Georgina, Ronaldo’s sister Katia Aveiro blasted Van Dijk for his alleged joke on the 34-year-old forward.

In a post on Instagram, she referenced the former Southampton defender not yet winning the Premier League as well as making a point of reminding him her brother beat his Netherlands side in the Nations League final.
