CSK Full Squad for IPL 2019

CSK Full Squad for IPL 2019: Sportsrush presents before you Chennai Super Kings’ full squad for the next season of the IPL.

IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings bought a couple players to complete their full quota of 25 players for the 12th edition of the IPL (Indian Premier League). Having retained as many as 23 players last month, Super Kings weren’t expected to go on a shopping spree in today’s auction.

In desperate search of a fast bowler, CSK started bidding for Jaydev Unadkat. However, lack of funds (INR 8.4 crore in their purse) didn’t allow them to buy him. Not losing hope, CSK entered the bidding battle soon enough.

As a result, the IPL champions ended up buying fast bowler Mohit Sharma for INR 5 crore. It is worth mentioning that Sharma had made his IPL debut with Super Kings in 2013. It was his stint with CSK which aided him to make an appearance at the highest level.

During the last hour of the auction, CSK bought Maharashtra batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad for his base price of INR 20 lakh. The 21-year old right-hand batsman had made his First-class debut in 2016 and limited-overs format in the subsequent year.

Ahead of the auction, there were reports of Super Kings buying veteran India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh. During the auction, the franchise didn’t bid for the legendary cricketer as he remained unsold in the first round but was eventually bought for INR 1 crore by Mumbai Indians.
