The most recent highlight of Cyberpunk 2077 has left everyone laughing. Well, you’re probably not laughing if you’re into that kind of stuff, but we’re not judging. CDPR recently shut down a mod that was made so that players could have coitus with Keanu Reeves starring as Johnny Silverhand. Read on to find out more!
CDPR has recently been under fire from all directions especially after its Patch 1.1 launch which had a game-breaking bug in it. The company has been ridiculed for its bad workplace practices and shoddy launch of Cyberpunk 2077.
This time, the company actually took action against a mod that allows you to ‘sort of’ have sex with Johnny Silverhand. It was spotted by Eurogamer and soon after publishing the story, the mod was taken off Nexus mods.
What exactly does the mod do?
The mod in question allows you to manually swap character skin textures onto other models. The models are sexbots called Joytoys which can be ‘interacted’ with in-game. Johnny Silverhand is one of the skins available and can be used on of the Joytoys.
The Joytoy doesn’t use Keanu’s voice and uses its own built-in lines. The characters also stay dressed throughout the act so it’s not the most realistic mod either. The mod was created by a person known as Catmino and was hosted on Nexus mods. The mod can be used for functions other than just using it on Joytoys. However, the clear highlight of the mod was when it was used in this fashion.
What was CDPR’s response to the whole situation?
Upon being questioned, CDPR stated that it didn’t want its most important of not harming others to be broken. It said that the model swaps could be perceived as harmful by people who have lent their appearance to make the character model.
Seeing as how Keanu Reeves might still be needed for the DLC gameplay, CDPR clearly doesn’t want to damage their relationship with him. If anything this outcome was regrettable, but inevitable at the same time.
