Dani Ceballos reveals Jurgen Klopp was the reason why he chose Arsenal over Liverpool
“That a club like Liverpool loves you is a pride, but my decision was to go to Arsenal because Emery grabbed my hand and told me to go together,” Ceballos said.
“Klopp is a great coach but you have to see the game philosophy of each team.
“Right now, players of my philosophy of play wouldn’t fit in a team like Liverpool in the best possible way. But that you are related to the greats is because you are doing things right.”
The Spaniard was a regular under former Arsenal boss Unai Emery. However, injuries and Emery’s sacking has changed his fortunes at the club. Ceballos has made a solitary appearance under new manager Mikel Arteta.
Despite this, Ceballos has said that chose not to leave the club in January because he still has a point to prove.
“Arsenal took a chance on me and you have to return that trust through work to turn the situation around,” Ceballos said.
“If I do that, return from injury and help the team achieve its objectives, it will leave a better feeling than if I had taken the coward’s way out and left.
“I want to restore confidence because I think it is time to step forward. It seems silly but Arsenal fans have a song dedicated to me.
“Only three or four players have their own song and they have been there for many years. I feel very loved. The fans are always supporting me.”
