Daniel Ricciardo finally breaks silence on if he would show up for last 2 races
Daniel Ricciardo has had a frustrating season this time round, getting served with 8 DNFs, thanks to problems with the Renault engine and with the Red Bull car.
The Australian cut a sorry figure post the Mexican GP, as despite having secured pole position on Saturday and then driving in P2 during the dying stages of the race, he was forced to retire because of a clutch issue.
A furious Ricciardo kept his words to himself over the team radio but blasted Red Bull with all his might during the post race interview.
He felt helpless and conceded that he might not even show up for the last two races, as he didn’t see the point in doing so.
He ended the interview by saying that he would now gladly hand over the ‘cursed car’ to Gasly as he was absolutely done with Red Bull.
His statements made the headlines post the Mexican GP, as it was a sign of a healthy relationship turning sour right when it had reached its expiration date.

Since his comments, Christian Horner has spoken to the media about it and has accepted the criticism from Ricciardo, as the season indeed has been very frustrating for him from a reliability point of view.
Ricciardo deserved to be on the podium in Mexico, but maybe it just wasn’t meant to be.
After a few days off, Ricciardo has now addressed the situation and confirmed that he will be participating in the last two races.
He put a video on Instagram stating that he was indeed frustrated but had a job to do and will not disappoint his teammates by not showing up.
He also conceded that he needed some time off to cool down and is now raring to go for the last two races, in an attempt to end the Red Bull relationship on a high.

With the Brazil GP lined up for next weekend, Ricciardo would be hoping that he can get the car to cross the line and maybe, just maybe, get a podium finish out of it as well.
