Danny Welbeck contract: Arsenal’s head coach Unai Emery is keen on Danny Welbeck signing a new deal with the club.

Arsenal have been enduring a difficult time negotiating with players for a new contract since the beginning of the new season. Talks over a new contract with Aaron Ramsey have reportedly broken down, and the Welsh midfielder is, at the moment, free to negotiate with others clubs from January 1.

Another Arsenal star whose contract expires at the end of the season is Danny Welbeck. The striker has bagged four goals in six appearances for the club this season, scoring two in the Carabao Cup fixture earlier this week.

The striker’s performance have impressed Unai Emery so far, and the Spanish head coach revealed in the press conference that he could accommodate the player in the first-team for the Premier League match this weekend against Watford.

Unai Emery also addressed the situation regarding his contract, signifying that he wants Welbeck to sign a new contract.

“There are three things when we are speaking about an individual. There’s the club, the player and the team, and my focus is the team,” Emery said.

“I know they have last year of their contract with the team and they are working on speaking with the club. The performance and the commitment of the player is very high and also Danny Welbeck’s situation is one thing for the club and for them.

“I am very happy individually with the player. He gave us his quality and also his commitment every day. Danny Welbeck is working with this commitment and when he is playing also with a performance like today, and I think he’s helping the team and we want this.”
