David Beckham buys 10% stakes in Salford City FC

David Beckham has bought 10% stakes from Salford City FC.

Salford City FC is a footballing club which is located in Greater Manchester and competes in the fifth tier English football. Since the club got founded in 1940, they have never ever played the Premier League football.
The English outfit has never had success in all these years, but they were able to attain three promotions in the last four years. From being a football club which was not being run on a consistent basis for staying in England’s top five divisions is one of the biggest honors.

In 2014, the club was taken over by Singapore businessman Peter Lim who owns 40% of the club stakes. Followed by him, former Manchester United players including Ryan Giggs, Phil Neville, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, and Nicky Butt bought 10% of stakes each. Recently, David Beckham decided to join hands with the famous ‘Class of 92’ to own 10% of the club.

The other six except Beckham took over the club in 2014. It was Ryan Giggs who suggested a new consortium with a vision of taking part in the Championship football in the next fifteen years. With twelve wins on a bounce, they were able to gain promotion to the Northern Premier League Premier Division.
That same year the club reached the FA Cup first round for the first time in their history. After being part-time players for years, the club announced that the players will be representing Salford City FC on a full-time basis after they secured the promotion to the fifth tier of English football.

Former Fleetwood Town and Scunthorpe United manager Graham Alexander was appointed the club manager on May 14, 2018. Following a good start to the season, they sit 4th in the League table.
Salford City FC’s stadium named Moor Lane can accommodate up to 5100 people. The fanbase has started to build as people have started to go for the games in numbers these days to support the club.
With the class of 92 including Beckham, Giggs, Neville Brothers, Scholes, Butt, and Valencia FC owner Peter Lim’s ownership, the club are nothing short of marketing. They can recoup plenty of money with that usage.
