David De Gea commits a howler on the goal as he failed to judge the long strike from Granit Xhaka against Arsenal.
Manchester United and Arsenal are currently playing each other in a significant game for the top-4 race.
Solskjaer’s men are in superb form but faced an early setback in the game.
Granit Xhaka gave the host side a lead in the game as David De Gea, who is usually supremely attentive on the goal, committed a howler.
Here’s how the goal happened:
David De Gea’s commits howler:
David De Gea was beaten by a long shot from Granit Xhaka which gave Arsenal the lead against Manchester United.
Earlier in the game, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also took an aim towards the goal but missed by a considerable distance. Xhaka, however, not only hit the target but also led David De Gea to misjudge his shot.
Arsenal dominated the possession and had more shots on the goal than Manchester United, which was unlike the performances put by Solskjaer’s side in the past.
By the time this article was written, Arsenal led 1-0 in the game.
Furthers proves my point that Ter Stegen is better than De Gea. Ter Stegen saves this every time pic.twitter.com/9wFllmOAmf

How Twitter reacted..
Yeah we’ll take another 17 of those from De Gea and that should make up for his past performances against us

I think De Gea was deceived more by the way Xhaka shaped to strike it, towards the left post, rather than the swerve per se

I’ll never hate on David De Gea for what he’s done for us but you’ve got to criticise the goalkeeping there. He knows he could have done better! #mufc pic.twitter.com/QlJnoYOGrL

Love the camera angle going through De Gea’s actual brain matter

That’s … that’s a weird one. Almost as if De Gea has already taken his chance on the ball going to his left.

David De Gea has conceded 6⃣ goals from outside the box in @premierleague this season – only conceded more than that once in his 8 seasons at @ManUtd (conceded 9 from outside box in 2013-14)#ARSMUN pic.twitter.com/I8OBWOJ0Rp

Blame the wind, De Gea. That’s what everyone else does.

Another high profile De Gea mistake? Love to see it.

De Gea isn’t looking at his best today.

I don’t think I’ve ever said this but David de Gea has been really poor so far today, he has been quite sloppy on goal kicks and that goal was a mistake from him. Still so much time left, time to wake up.
