David De Gea is set to sign a £350,000-a-week new long-term contract with Manchester United. 

David De Gea is set to commit his future to Manchester United by signing a new £350,000-a-week contract. The Spanish International faced an uncertain future at Old Trafford, but he has put a full-stop to that situation.

The Manchester United shot-stopper has been locked in negotiations with his club over the past year, but both the parties have come to a conclusion. There was severe interest from Paris Saint Germain and Juventus, but the 28-year-old has decided to stay put at Manchester.

That is owing down to the fact that United offering him a bumper contract which helps him to carry his reign at Old Trafford. The Telegraph say that David De Gea will officially sign a new long-term contract once the squad returns from the pre-season. The squad is currently in Australia before culminating the tour in Singapore later this month.

With this deal, Spain’s number 1 will become the second-highest earner in the club after Alexis Sanchez. His teammate, who finished fourth in the Copa America with Chile, earns a basic wage of £391,000 a week salary rising to £500,000 a week salary depending on the bonus clauses that are being inserted.

Since his £18 million move from Atletico Madrid in 2012, De Gea has made 357 appearances in all competitions for the club. During this seven-year stint, the Red Devils goalkeeper has won the league, FA Cup, Europa League, and League Cup once. He also managed to sneak into the PFA team five times in his career and played an instrumental role in Manchester United’s accolades lately.

He joins Marcus Rashford by committing future to Manchester United. The striker was subjected to interest from Barcelona, but he signed a new £200,000-a-week contract. Meanwhile, Juan Mata also extended his allegiance until 2021 with the club.
