Mourinho on 'virus' comment

Mourinho on ‘virus’ comment: The Manchester United manager has responded to the ‘virus’ comment on Paul Pogba.

Manchester United are currently 7th in the league, and will face a tough test at Old Trafford in Wednesday this week, as they take on Arsenal. Unai Emery’s side is in high spirits at the moment, as Arsenal defeated Tottenham 4-2 in season’s first North London derby on Sunday.

United, meanwhile, are struggling with form as the side was held to a 2-2 draw at Southampton on Saturday.

The side is winless in their last three league games, and the pressure has significantly increased on Jose Mourinho. The situation became worse as it was later revealed that Mourinho lashed out at midfielder Paul Pogba in a dressing room meltdown.

Duncan Castles, the journalist for Daily Record, reported that Mourinho went to the extent of calling Pogba a virus’ in the dressing room. However, the Manchester United manager has now responded to the claims.

Mourinho on ‘virus’ comments:

Jose Mourinho has responded to the alleged comments he was thought to have said after the game against Southampton. The Manchester United manager interacted with media for the pre-match conference before the game against Arsenal.

Mourinho seemingly denied making these comments, stating that it is another one of the rumours.

“If you have attention a couple of minutes ago I don’t play the game of the suggest,” Mourinho said.

“You saw me in the press conference you saw me in the flash interviews, you know what I told. That’s simple.

“You go to my words what I told to TV, press conference – another thing is somebody said I told, I don’t play that game.”

In the report by Duncan Castles, the journalist claimed that Mourinho accused Pogba of ‘killing the mentality’ of the players inside the dressing room.

“You don’t play. You don’t respect players and supporters. And you kill the mentality of the good honest people around you,” Mourinho was reportedly thought to have said to Pogba.

What next?

Manchester United will meet Arsenal in a bid to return to winning ways in the Premier League. Since returning from the international break last month, United have only won one game, against Young Boys in the Champions League, which secured the side a berth in the round-of-16.
