A lot of cricketers today started as fans. They screamed and supported their favourites while watching them on TV or during their trip to the stadium. They idolised their heroes and dreamt to be just like them and in some cases, even do so.
David Warner, one such hero to many kids around the world, played a masterclass innings today to help Australia to a massive 134 run over the visiting Sri Lankan side. His 100 came off just 56 balls and helped the Kangaroo’s score a daunting 233-2 in their 20 overs.
The man of the match of the day however, was not done winning the hearts of the fans just yet. The swashbuckling opening batsmen made sure to leave a few fans with memories they will definitely carry with them all their lives.

As Warner left the field to head back to the pavilion, he was greeted by a few children. Warner then left the young fans stunned when he dropped his gloves in the bucket of one of the children. The surprised fans looked in awe as Warner walked past them.

David Warner’s heroics has made him only the third Australian to score a century in all 3 formats of International cricket. With this victory, Australia have begun their summer season in the best possible way.
The side will hope for similar performances all through the summer and beyond as they look to establish themselves as a dominant side after a few months of disappointment. Warner himself, looks in good touch after a few disappointing outings in the recently concluded Ashes series and will hope to carry his good form.
