While most teams thrive primarily on their home conditions, the curious case of Delhi Capitals witnesses them losing three out of four matches at their home ground in Feroz Shah Kotla this season. In a bid to revive their home campaign, DC won’t find a better competitor than Kings XI Punjab for the visitors have won just a lone match out of four away matches in IPL 2019.
With five victories in nine matches each, both the teams are currently at 10 points in the points table. A victory tonight will see either one out of them to step ahead in the race as far as the Top Four teams are concerned.

Top-order
Having scored 207 runs in nine matches at an average of 23 and a strike rate of 140.81, Prithvi Shaw hasn’t done as well as it was expected from him. Barring the 19-year old cricketer’s 99 (55) against Kolkata Knight Riders at Dehli, he has hardly generated any impact this season. With a highest score of 28 in his last six innings, both DC and Shaw himself would be looking to press the ante at the top of the order.
While Shikhar Dhawan has been Capitals’ highest run-scorer in IPL 2019 so far, Colin Munro has just played a couple of matches this season. That being said, the senior duo will have to play responsibly in a bid to register which will be only their second home victory of IPL 2019.
Middle-order
Captain Shreyas Iyer and wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant aren’t too far away from Dhawan as far the number of runs this season are concerned. With all of them in vicinity of each other, it speaks highly about Capitals’ success being a team effort in its true sense.
Given the presence of a couple of all-rounders in Delhi’s middle-order in Chris Morris and Axar Patel, both of them will have to stand tall in the slog overs. Knowing that they don’t bat too deep, Capitals’ can’t really afford a batting collapse, a situation which has already affected them in run chases this year.

Bowlers
A pace-bowling attack comprising of Morris, Kagiso Rabada, Ishant Sharma and Keemo Paul has it in it to counter the likes of Chris Gayle and Lokesh Rahul. Depending on the conditions, Capitals can also opt to bring back Sandeep Lamichhane in place of Paul. While it might further curtail their batting order, it will add variety to their spin department.
Other than this, don’t expect many changes in DC’s bowling division tonight.
