DC Playing 11 today

DC Playing 11 today: The Sportsrush presents before you DC’s Predicted Playing 11 for their ninth match of IPL 2019.

The Delhi Capitals, after a successful road trip, will be going back to their home to face the mighty Mumbai Indians. Delhi have won 3 matches back to back and are sitting pretty on the No. 2 spot on the points table. They should try and carry on this momentum into this match as well.

Their team looks well settled with the batsmen and bowlers contributing in an excellent fashion. A lot of credit goes to Purple Cap holder, Kagiso Rabada, who has been lethal with the ball so far. The batting order also looks good with someone or the other always stepping up.

Top-order

The Capitals top order has been in good touch. Shikhar Dhawan is looking formidable especially after the 96 he scored against KKR at the Eden Gardens. He should look to take the responsibility again and get a big score. Prithvi Shaw, after his 99 against KKR at Delhi, has had a string of failures and he really needs to get some runs at the top of the order.

Considering Colin Ingram’s absence, another Colin in Colin Munro would take up the No. 3 position where he batted the other night and scored a quickfire 40 off 24 balls. DC would be expecting him to perform well again.

Middle-order

Shreyas Iyer will continue batting at No. 4. He has looked great in this IPL and would like to once again score some runs and lead from the front. Rishabh Pant, coming in at 5, has not played a very compelling innings ever since the first match against MI. Hopefully, playing against MI will bring back memories from the first match and help him replicate that performance. Chris Morris, Keemo Paul, Rahul Tewatia and Axar Patel would round up the batting order with their finishing abilities.

Bowlers

The DC bowling attack is enviable. The sheer variety of bowlers in their attack makes the Capitals capable of winning any match. Kagiso Rabada has been impeccable and is running away with the Purple Cap.

Ishant Sharma has been impressive too but is likely to lose his spot to a spinner in Rahul Tewatia considering the slow nature of the Kotla pitch. Keemo Paul came into his own the last match and delivered a Man of the Match worthy performance by picking up 3 crucial wickets. Chris Morris has also been very consistent.

In the spin department, Amit Mishra has been good and would want to exploit the pitch conditions at the Kotla to his advantage along with Axar Patel and Rahul Tewatia.
