DC vs KKR Man of the Match

DC vs KKR Man of the Match: Delhi Capitals opening batsman was awarded the Man of the Match award in the 10th match of IPL 2019.

During the 10th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders at Delhi, Delhi Capitals defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in a nerve-wrenching super over. While the match looked set to be won by Delhi at one point in time, the visitors registered an emphatic comeback to make sure that they got another over in the Super Over.

Chasing a 186-run target, Delhi required six runs in the last over. With a couple of runs needed off the last ball, Kolkata chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav made sure that he doesn’t concede more than a lone run against Delhi batsman Colin Ingram. With bowling figures of 4-0-41-2, Yadav was pick of the bowlers for KKR tonight.

In the first innings, KKR had scored 185-8 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. It was a 95-run stand for the sixth wicket between captain Dinesh Karthik (50) and all-rounder Andre Russell (62) which aided Kolkata to score a formidable total. Having registered 4-0-40-2, Harshal Patel was the highest wicket-taker for the visitors.

Chasing a 186-run target, teenage batsman Prithvi Shaw scored his career-best IPL score to nearly secure a victory for his team. Before getting out in the penultimate over of the match, Shaw ended up scoring 99 (54) with the help of 12 fours and three sixes.

The right-hand batsman was instrumental in standing his ground for most part of DC’s innings. Despite other senior batsmen getting out on the other end, Shaw made sure that he guides his team to victory. While he couldn’t seal the chase, his contribution saw him winning the Man of the Match award.
