Delhi were powered by a 66-run opening partnership between Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan. Shaw, who was coming on the back of an extended lean patch, top-scored for DC scoring 56 (38) with the help of six fours and two sixes.
That being said, a sudden collapse saw Delhi losing half their side in the next seven overs. Just when DC were looking behind in the chase, wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant played a phenomenal innings to turn the things for his team.

Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the 11th over, Pant was witness to as many as four batsmen being dismissed with him on the non-striker’s end. Not losing his composure before the shot on which he got out, Pant ensured that he carried his team on the brink of victory.
The 21-year old cricketer scoring two fours and two sixes in the 18th over off Basil Thampi was the game-changing moment in the match. Having scored 49 (21) with the help of two fours and five sixes, Pant was declared the ‘Man of the Match’.
