The 16th match of the ongoing 12th edition of the Indian Premier League will be played between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad at Delhi. In what will be Capitals’ third home game, they would be desperate to attain consistency and not appear keen on not banking on situations from where they can win matches.
Given the opposition in an in-form Sunrisers, DC will have to put on display their best performance of IPL 2019 so far. With SRH coming on the back of two consecutive victories, it will become all the more difficult for them to register victory tomorrow.
DC vs SRH – What numbers suggest?
Out of the 12 matches which Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad have played so far, Hyderabad have a stellar 8-4 record against Delhi. In the four matches which DC and SRH have played in Delhi, SRH have another lead of 3-1 on the opposition’s home ground.
Despite Delhi’s average score against Hyderabad (156) being more than Hyderabad’s average score against Delhi (149), they have not been able to force the desired result against them. The same also speaks highly about SRH’s exceptional bowling lineup and how their bowlers have applied breaks against opposition batsmen in the recent years.
DC vs SRH – Paper value
Other than Sunrisers’ bowling, Capitals will also have to face the wrath of their batting. Given the form that their opening pair in Jonny Bairstow and David Warner, DC’s bowlers have a daunting task in front of them.
Not that Delhi Capitals do not comprise of batsmen who can force proceedings on the opposition, it is their inconsistency which has let them down a bit in the season so far. Going by the current form of both the teams, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that SRH look set to register third IPL 2019 victory tomorrow.
How Twitter reacted:
The last time Kagiso Rabada faced off against David Warner, it was in the controversial 3rd Test between South Africa and Australia in Newlands in 2018.
The rivalry resumes in Kotla on Thursday:

Because ‘Yeh Hai Nayi Dilli’ and Kotla is our yard. Let’s get back to winning momentum and be the first to destroy SRH batting that others could not. #QilaKotla #ThisIsNewDelhi #DelhiCapitals #DCvSRH @DelhiCapitals
